Will it give tax advice in my firm's name?
CPA Sidekick is designed to explain your services and process. Questions that require a professional judgment about someone's tax situation should go to your team. We configure those boundaries with you and test them before launch; AI can still make mistakes.
Could a visitor mistake the fee estimate for a quote?
That risk is why the estimator labels the result as an illustrative scoping range and explains what can move the final fee. You approve the bands; your firm confirms the scope and actual price with the client. The estimate does not commit you to an engagement.
Will it have access to tax returns or client records?
It has no connection to your tax software or client files and uses only the firm information you approve. Its welcome message asks visitors not to share Social Security or account numbers, and it isn't set up to collect documents.
Are conversations used to train AI models?
We do not use visitor conversations to train general-purpose AI models, and our AI provider's paid API terms exclude that use. Messages are still processed and retained to run the service. The privacy policy explains the providers, retention periods and deletion process.
Can I exclude services or specialties we don't offer?
Yes. We tailor the knowledge base to the work your firm takes on, including any specialties you want to emphasize or exclude. You review that content before launch and can request updates when your services or policies change.
What if it describes our services incorrectly?
You review the firm information and try questions against the configured assistant before launch. If an answer is inaccurate or incomplete, we review the underlying content and configuration with you. Grounding answers in approved material reduces the risk, but does not eliminate it.
Will this work with our website provider and client portal?
We check whether your provider allows the installation and confirm compatibility before setup. Your website and secure client portal stay in place; CPA Sidekick serves visitors exploring your firm, while document uploads, signatures and client-specific work stay in your existing systems.
